ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the possibility of tumor abnormal protein ( TAP) ,as index of diag-nosis and prediction of prognosis in gastrointestinal tumors (GITs).Methods The outpatients and inpatients as well as healthy physical examinees in our hospital were chosen as objects in the present study .The patients were divided into GIT group(120 cases),high-risk GIT group(123 cases)and normal group(117 cases).TAP ex-pression was detected in three groups. These study objects were followed up for one and a half years .Then the re-lationship between TAP expression and the occurrence or recurrence of tumors was analyzed .Rseults There were significant differences(P<0.001)among the three groups on the positive TAP with critical expression rate .TAP detections to GITs diagnosis sensitivity ,specificity ,positive predictive value ,negative predictive value and Youden index were 88.33%,85.83%,75.71%,93.64% and 0.74 respectively.TAP positive non GITs crowd tumori-genesis proportion (23.53%)was significantly higher than that of TAP -negative(0.49%)(P<0.001).GITs TAP positive patients relapse rate(33.33%)was significantly higher than negative ones (6.90%)(P<0.001). Conlcusion TAP can be an index for diagnosis ,early prevention ,monitoring of treatment effect and prediction of prognosis of gastrointestinal tumor .

ABSTRACT

[Objective] To observe the cure effect of photodynamic therapy(PDT) combined with TCM on verruca acuminata. [Method] Select 80 cases of verruca acuminata, divide them into control group and treatment group, n=40 for each; the control one only took LE D-IB PDT therapeutic apparatus, the treatment one added with TCM on the base of control one; Observe their cure effects and side effects. [Result] The effective rate was 97.5% for treatment group, and 88.5% for control one, the treatment one was better than other one; there ’re 2 cases in each group respectively who had slight red and swol en skin of the il umination part, without side effects of erosion, ulcer, infection or scar;the recurrence rates were respectively 2.5% and 12.5% for both groups, the difference had statistical meaning. [Conclusion] PDT combined with TCM treating verruca acuminata had high cure rate, low recurrence rate, little side effects and high safety, without influencing patients ’life quality, with good compliance, worth clinical broad popularization.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the relationship between mental status and some physical indicators,so as to identify the influencing factors of anxiety and depression in health check-up populations. Methods A total of 3885 health check-up adults enrolled in this investigation.Self-rating anxiety scale (SAS),self-rating depression scale (SDS),and Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL90) were used to evaluate mental health of the participants.Physical indicators, including body mass index (BMI),systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),triglyceride (TG),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C),serum free three iodine armour gland original acid (FT5),serum free thyroxine (FT4),and thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH),were retrospectively reviewed.Pearson correlation analysis was used to assess the relationship between mental health and physical signs, and the Logistic regression analysis was performed to confirm the influencing factors of anxiety and depression. Results Increased prevalence of anxiety and depression was found in females or those with lower education level. For the health check-up populations, anxiety and depression were negatively correlated to BMI,SBP,DBP,LDL-C,FT3 and FT4.In Logistic regression analysis,LDL-C,FT3 and FT4 were related to SDS score, while SBP,FT3,and FT4 were related to SAS score. Conclusion Our data suggest that emotion could be affected by gender and education level; SBP,LDL-C,FT3,and FT4 may be protective factors of anxiety and depression.

ABSTRACT

Palmitoleic acid (16:1delta9), an unusual monounsaturated fatty acid, is highly valued for human nutrition, medication and industry. Plant oils containing large amounts of palmitoleic acid are the ideal resource for biodiesel production. To increase accumulation of palmitoleic acid in plant tissues, we used a yeast (Saccharomyees cerevisiae) acyl-CoA-delta9 desaturase (Scdelta9D) for cytosol- and plastid-targeting expression in tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.). By doing this, we also studied the effects of the subcellular-targeted expression of this enzyme on lipid synthesis and metabolism in plant system. Compared to the wild type and vector control plants, the contents of monounsaturated palmitoleic (16:1delta9) and cis-vaccenic (18:1delta11) were significantly enhanced in the Scdelta9D-transgenic leaves whereas the levels of saturated palmitic acid (16:0) and polyunsaturated linoleic (18:2) and linolenic (18:3) acids were reduced in the transgenics. Notably, the contents of 16:1delta9 and 18:1delta11 in the Scdelta9D plastidal-expressed leaves were 2.7 and 1.9 folds of that in the cytosolic-expressed tissues. Statistical analysis appeared a negative correlation coefficient between 16:0 and 16:1delta9 levels. Our data indicate that yeast cytosolic acyl-CoA-delta9 desaturase can convert palmitic (16:0) into palmitoleic acid (16:1delta9) in high plant cells. Moreover, this effect of the enzyme is stronger with the plastid-targeted expression than the cytosol-target expression. The present study developed a new strategy for high accumulation of omega-7 fatty acids (16:1delta9 andl8:1delta11) in plant tissues by protein engineering of acyl-CoA-delta9 desaturase. The findings would particularly benefit the metabolic assembly of the lipid biosynthesis pathway in the large-biomass vegetative organs such as tobacco leaves for the production of high-quality biodiesel.
